hi, Katharina, as you are second year student, i want to know about the practical work and so far what do you think about your job prospects?

We have quite a lot of practical work what I personally really like about this study. For example, in the first year, we are working in the chemical and mechanical labs to get to know tests and requirements, we learn how to knit on knitting machines and also sewing in the Atelier within different smaller projects and different machines. In addition, every Quarter we have a project which can contain making a collection but also making a new product like a bike bag or similar. Other projects can be a bit more theoretical. In one project for example we were only researching about the possibilities in textile recycling. But most of the time there is at least one part of your Quarter really practical what equals the theoretical part.

My job prospects are actually a hard one in this study. We have so many different options from working for a fashion company and making collections or working in a more textile related company for example for matrasses or working in research about textile recycling. This is something you have to figure yourself during the study and gladly I still have two years to figure that out.
